Descripción
Sumario:We depart from the notion that media, texts, as well as cultural, production and reception contexts are connected in a complex network, open to momentary associations. A discourse on the structures of domination between the genders which is reflected on the arts is articulated in A Room with a View (1908), a novel by E. M. Forster, which subverts such arrangement by composing male beauty as a means to visual pleasure. In the film adaptation, directed by James Ivory in 1985, diverse art forms such as painting, illustration, music and silent movies translate Forster's text from the director's experiences and visions. The link with high culture through art references became one of the heritage film characteristics.
