Descripción
Sumario:This text is divided in two parts; the first is a brief account of the arrival of the railroad to Mexico and its importance as a carrier of modernity, which united the different regions of a country that was in search of itself as a nation. This part ends with the arrival of the railroad to Aguascalientes and its designation as the headquarters of the General Construction and Repair of Machines and Rolling Stock Workshops of the Mexican Central Railroad Company. In the second part will be held first, an approach to the concept of general workshops in the railroad industry in the nineteenth and early twentieth century, and subsequently an analytical journey by the three different design projects presented for the Aguascalientes' workshops from what was proposed in some railway treatises and how the proposals were responding to them until it finally came the project that was built.
