Among the results found, it was observed that most employed individuals were male (57.75%) while the majority of unemployed were female (57.43). The average age of the individuals who worked was 33 years. In addition, 68.64% of employees had a formal contract. After the descriptive analysis of the data, these were used in the application of the logistic econometric model, Logit. According to the results, the variables gender and education were statistically significant. Regarding to the gender variable, it was observed that the chance of a male individual being working was 80.21% higher than the chance of a woman. In addition, an extra year of schooling increased the chance that the individual was working by 5.9%.Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar o perfil do trabalhador sul-mato-grossense e, com base em determinadas características desse trabalhador, determinar a probabilidade de ele estar trabalhando. Para isso, utilizou-se como fonte de dados a Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios (PNAD) de 2015. Após definição das variáveis, foi apresentada uma análise descritiva da distribuição das características dos trabalhadores sul-mato-grossenses. Dentre os resultados encontrados, observou-se que a maioria dos indivíduos ocupados eram do sexo masculino (57,75%) enquanto a maioria dos desocupados eram do sexo feminino (57,43%). A média de idade dos indivíduos que trabalhavam foi de 33 anos. Além disso, 68,64% dos empregados possuíam carteira de trabalho assinada. Após a análise descritiva dos dados, estes foram utilizados na aplicação do modelo econométrico logístico, Logit. De acordo com os resultados, as variáveis gênero e escolaridade foram estatisticamente significantes. Com relação a variável gênero, observou-se que a chance de um indivíduo do sexo masculino estar trabalhando era 80,21% maior do que a chance de uma mulher.
