| Summary: | Context: The analysis of pesticide poisoning databases in the province of Mendoza, Argentina, and the review of others on notifiable diseases, revealed significant underreporting in the former due to problems with loading and data coding. This situation creates difficulties for the analysis of the spatial dynamics of the health problem through the use of geotechnologies, as well as for systematizing the data and understanding the problem. Method: Based on the above, the information available for the province was analyzed in the databases corresponding to eight mandatory reporting events categorized as "poisoning". between 1993 and 2018. This made it possible to establish the level of underreporting and detect problems in loading data to specifically identify those intoxications linked to the use of agrochemicals in agricultural work, among other problems. Result: The analysis highlighted the need to establish improvements in diagnosis, notification, as well as in the upload of information to the health information system to improve the later use of data by users who access them. |
