| Sumario: | This article proposes an analysis of the pilot episode of the television series The Handmaid's Tale, from the perspective of the Theory of Structural Analysis of the Narrative of Roland Barthes (2001). For this, we sought to recognize the units that make up the narrative structure of the episode individually, for its subsequent relationship with the different levels of depth. With an exploratory character and qualitative approach, the research started from a bibliographic review with deepening in the theory of analysis proposed by Roland Barthes, used as an instrument of analysis of the research object. Thus, we identified the distribution of the fundamental narrative elements for the construction of the serial narrative, organized in the form of frames. As a result, it was observed the importance of structure in the formation of the narrative, mainly audiovisual, to hold the attention and maintain the interest of the spectator. |
