Considering that marine mammals and objects also acted in this context, it was sought to show how these actors related during the period they shared in Antarcticas environment. To do this, data was searched through analysis files, which helped to characterize each one of the actors, helping to think how they interacted, made exchanges and transformed each other. Through the data obtained with written sources and archaeological vestiges, it was possible to see how people, marine mammals and objects related and constructed mutually the history which so many times is narrated only as the arrival of the human being at Antarctica. The importance and efficiency of the techniques used in the context are clear and when we observe that we can find them nowadays in some parts of the world.Esta dissertação teve como objetivo analisar os contextos de caça de mamíferos marinhos, ocorridos durante as primeiras ocupações humanas na Antártica, no início do século XIX. Para isso foram utilizados conceitos da Antropologia e Arqueologia Simétrica, entendendo que não apenas as pessoas tiveram papel ativo na história dessas atividades, mas também considerando que mamíferos marinhos e objetos atuaram nesse contexto, buscou-se mostrar como esses atores se relacionaram durante o período em que estiveram compartilhando o ambiente antártico. Para isso foram buscadas informações, através de fichas de análises, que ajudassem a caracterizar cada um dos atores, ajudando a pensar como estes interagiram, realizaram trocas e transformaram-se uns aos outros. Através dos dados obtidos em fontes escritas e vestígios arqueológicos, foi possível perceber como pessoas, mamíferos marinhos e objetos se relacionaram e construíram, mutuamente, a história que muitas vezes é narrada apenas como a da chegada do ser humano à Antártica.
