| Sumario: | Librarianship has led Edson Nery da Fonseca to identify and apply the theoretical principles and practices governing the formative and informative elements of the library and documentation services. Throughout his studies, he understood that, in the general framework of knowledge, Librarianship was classified among Applied Documentological Sciences. By focusing on the construction of his object of study in the general framework, he emphasized Bibliography as a historical-descriptive nature, designed to provide the so-called information flow for science and technology. In this work, the objective was to elucidate, systematize and highlight in the life and work of Fonseca, according to the time and place, his professional performance, as well as to situate and give relief to the theoretical and practical contributions of authors who guided and supported the formation and the diffusion of the ideas of the also articulista. In order to delineate the path of the librarian / bibliographer, the conceptual positions and definitions adopted by him and the circumstances that marked his way of disseminating and defending the discursive practice, giving meaning to the information and the bibliography, came to the surface. The existing survey of its bibliographical references guided the consultation and the compatibility of the texts, to demonstrate the referral given by the bibliographer to the Information Science. All the achievements and their printed works configure and consolidate their presence in the History of Bibliography and Documentation in Brazil. |
