Sumario:The editorial comments on the rereading of the document “To be or not to be a librarian,” written by Professor Edson Nery da Fonseca and published in 1966. Even though more than 56 years have passed since the first publication of this text, this rereading pointed out two aspects: the first , is that this true manifesto against the inertia of the Brazilian librarian could, with few repairs, be published today. The second aspect is that many of the things mentioned still cry out for solutions in this troubled Brazilian librarianship context. In addition, the articles included in the third issue of 2022 of the Ibero-American Journal of Information Science are commented.
