Resumo:As teachers, we know the close relationship between Cartography and Geography, which in the condition of science, make it possible to clarify the contradictions in the socio-spatial dynamics. Thus, technological resources are important as possible enhancers of cartographic communication. The purpose of this article is to bring up aspects that make it possible to discuss how applications, specifically Google Earth and Google Maps, can be used in education, in order to foster a methodology for working on the contents of Geography. For this, we present the writing in three parts. In the first, we approach Geographic science in relation to the map; in the second, the relationship between cartographic science and the teaching of Geography, based on Callai (2005) and Francischett (2002, 2007, 2011) and, lastly, we discussed the technological resources mentioned in the context of School Cartography. The use of interactive digital maps, propitiate the development of basic notions, important for learning such as: in observation, orientation and spatial location, which together with the pedagogical work with contents, related to geographic and cartographic scales, to the system of coordinates and socio-spatial mobility provide geographic knowledge.
