Descripción
Sumario:This article aims to analyze the profanation of the sacred image in the film "La Ricota" (1962), by Pier Paolo Pasolini. Based on the distinction between the concepts of sacred and profane made by the philosopher Georgio Agamben in his book Profanations (2008), this study investigates how the director problematizes the sacred image institutionalized by the Catholic Religion in our society. In addition, we will highlight the aesthetic resources used by Pasolini to carry out the profanation process, and how the director uses them to bring about the mystical experience within the cinema.
