| Summary: | This study aimed to analyze the management of archival documents currently practiced in the Library of the Catholic University of Rondônia, in Porto Velho, based on the assumptions described in Decree No. 9,235, of December 15, 2017, related to documentary aspects. The methodology used was a bib-liographic search with a qualitative approach, combined with the performance of semi-structured, non-standardized interviews and direct observation of the location, to collect the data. It was possible to understand the information system used in the FCR; describe and classify the documents of the Library sector according to the Table of the Archival Document Management System of the Federal Public Administration (SIGA); as well as analyzing the role of the librarian as a document manager. It was found that when a proper filing method is not used for the location, the process of keeping and searching for specific documents is practically impossible to happen. The work allowed us to conclude that the institution chosen for the research tries to adapt the filing guidelines on a daily basis, based on the current legislation, following the increasing need to serve the public that are its students. |
