Descripción
Sumario:Objective: to analyze how assistance is provided to women victims of domestic violence in Brazil. Methodology: integrative review with a search for articles published from 2016 to 2020 in three databases, consulted from November to December 2021. A flowchart was built with the steps of identification, selection and inclusion of texts and a synoptic table that allowed organizing the contents. Results and discussion: 47 studies were located, of which 34 were excluded after reading the complete manuscript due to repeated information, incomprehensible after being translated, and non-correspondence to the theme. The construction of traditional masculinity is strongly based on the possession of women. The services of the women's health care and support network have presented difficulties in implementing protocols, in addition, many professionals do not know how to identify and report a situation of violence. Conclusion: the assistance provided to women victims of domestic violence in Brazil is still not effective. It is necessary to carry out training for health professionals, focusing on the recognition of violence and case reporting due to the lack of trained professionals.
