Descripción
Sumario:During the Era Vargas (1930-1945) education was a constant theme of ideologues and authorities constituted in the three spheres of power, as a fundamental element in the formation of new patriot citizens and necessary for the construction of a "new" state. In this nationalist context, rural education was an important element, since almost half of the country's population was still living in the countryside. In Uberlândia / MG local and national political interests were part of the school organization in the period and this article discusses the organization and characteristics of the rural schools of that municipality according to the legal and curricular guidelines at the time and presents the main subjects of the rural school.
