Resumo:Introduction: Hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus and, depending on the type of procedure, may also include removal of the cervix, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. Objective: Apply the Nursing Care Process in the postoperative stage of the patient undergoing a vaginal hysterectomy. Methodology: This is a qualitative and descriptive study based on the application of the nursing care process and the evaluation of Marjory Gordon's functional patterns. The analysis of information seeks to publicize the postoperative care of vaginal hysterectomy. Discussion: Several postoperative symptoms were found, of which pain after anesthesia, hypothermia, headache, decreased libido and possible medical complications prevail. In order to establish focused and prioritized care in each clinical manifestation, providing a dignified treatment with quality and warmth in this surgery that is very common in women of reproductive age. Conclusion: Postoperative physical and psychological care focused on obtaining the well-being of the patient through the use of the Nursing Care Process was prioritized, with the purpose of reducing the risk of complications, reestablishing the state of health.
