| Sumario: | This article aims to discuss the Mobility and International Academic Exchange processes at the Universidade do Estado da Bahia (UNEB) as contributions to the internationalization of higher education in initial training. The methodological action is based on a qualitative approach, since it intended to reflect on the scenario of the internationalization of higher education, based on the conceptions of De Wir (2013), of Maués; Bastos (2017), Laus (2012) and the documentary contribution of the National Education Plan (2014-2024). Documentary research was constituted as a procedural option for discussing the perspectives on internationalization, mobility and exchange present in official documents of UNEB, such as Statute, Rules, Yearbooks, Resolutions, among others; and the autobiographical narrative of training as an instrument for data analysis and description. Finally, it was concluded that the process of internationalization of higher education at UNEB, based on the mobility and international exchange scholarship programs for undergraduate students, represents an important and strategic instrument for enhancing initial training, especially for teaching professionals, since students are challenged to assume a leading role representative of their own training.
