| Summary: | This research sought to show that existed an intellectual tradition, the School of Salamanca, that was inserted in a historical context of great commercial development worldwide, produced a significant number of works aimed at explaining commercial and financial activities. Contemporary to mercantilist economic policies, salmantine authors, among other contributions, stood out for the development of a fair price theory. Before the authors of Classical Political Economy elaborated the first discussions about what the fair price of all things would be, in the 16th and 17th centuries the Iberian scholastics, members of the School of Salamanca, dedicated themselves to the study and understanding of justice or absence of it in buying and selling relationships between individuals. |
