Descripción
Sumario:The present article has investigated the lexicon of mission statements from 62 Brazilian federal universities, by using Voyant Tools in order to identify the most word frequent terms, their co-occurrences and the context of their application. The results have revealed the presence of three recurring themes: knowledge, formation of people, and society development. Contrary to studies carried out in other countries, it has been found out that the declarations have few elements of distinction among them, except for the region of operation, which may reflect similar organizational formats.
