| Sumario: | The article reflects on the landscape reforms that took place in the City of Rio de Janeiro at the beginning of the 20th century, with an emphasis on the design practice of Paul Villon and his team. Based on primary sources and the concept of habitus, by Pierre Bourdieu, it was observed that, at that moment, the first appointment to the role of landscape architect occurred, granted to Paul Villon, who together with his team, oversaw the design of the gardens in the Pereira Passos Period. |
