Descripción
Sumario:This article analyzes the employment location and growth in the two its metropolitan (RM) and non-metropolitan areas (RNM). The study presents selected features of predominant kinds of activities in those two areas. The indexes obtained from regional analysis reveal the importance of each productive sector to the regional activities and the space trend in the two areas. The traditional industrial sectors show strong trends towards  concentration in the RNM. However, the dynamic industrial sectors show a trend towards dispersion from RM to RNM. This situation reflects the dynamic of RNM as an economic space for the dynamic activities. The capital of Paraná State and itssurrounding areas are shown to be inhospitable to traditional industrial sectors. Moreover, the RM seems to show a trend towards specialization on the service sector.
