Descripción
Sumario:The aim of this research was to survey the literature on the ways in which people with DS express their sexuality. An integrative literature review was carried out in SciELO, LILACS, MEDLINE, IBECS, PUBMED CENTRAL and DOAJ, as well as PePSIC. The Health Sciences descriptors used were: "Down's Syndrome" and "sexuality", combined by the Boolean operator AND. A total of 80 articles were found. After meeting the eligibility criteria, eight articles made up the review. The following categories emerged from the results: masturbation, physical contact, pornography consumption and exhibitionist behavior. Among them, it was possible to observe gestures of closeness, sentimental expressions, romanticism, concern for the partner, discussion about dating and relationships, verbalization of the desire to form families and have children, as well as some obscene gestures and exposure of body parts, and interaction on social networks. The conclusion is that people with DS are no different from other people in terms of their feelings and desires. It is necessary for guardians, family members and educators to have access to information about doubts and questions on this subject, as well as for people with DS to occupy their place of speech so that they can express themselves and be heard in their desires and doubts concerning affective and sexual relationships.
