Descripción
Sumario:This article aims to analyze discourses in order to discuss how meaning effects on women and heterosexual marriage are (re)produced, considering gender issues. French Discourse Analysis (DA) is used to analyze discourse fragments from Mariana Brito Garschagen’s profile on Instagram, an influencer who shows signs of ideological affiliation to antifeminism. The corpus is composed of Garschagen’s profile self-description and two Instagram Stories, which enables the investigation of meaning effects produced on married woman representation. For this purpose some notions of DA are mobilized, such as discursive formation, so that a brief historical review of meanings associated with marriage and women is performed. The work presents an initial discussion that can indicate how a social network platform like Instagram is a space of dissemination of retrograde values about women and marriage.
