Sumario:The analysis of textbook has experienced a remarkable growth during the last four decades, due to a new conception of textbooks as objects that allow to study the school. The proliferation of studies has been exponential and research traditions have been generated in each of the specific didactics. In this sense, this work carries out a systematic bibliographic review of the publications that address the analysis of textbooks in the field of music education. In total, it has been accessed to a sample of 74 scientific articles. The results show that the most frequent topics are the study of historical manuals, the effect produced by textbooks on students, the diversity they contain, the ideology they transmit and the presence of women in them.
