Descripción
Sumario:This paper aims to promote and share a letter written by the Marquess of Lavradio that is part of a corpus from a research project carried out by the Laboratory of Philological Studies (LabEFil) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Under a scientific perspective and a specific treatment, the analysed letter serves as a documental source for many potential researches. We claim, for instance, that a philologically treated manuscript is a key piece for studying the history of a language, since it may bring unique records from previous stages of the language in its lines. Thus, in order to comprehend how the letter we analyse was socio-historically created, we also present in this paper some palaeographic considerations that aim at properly interpreting this manuscript text.
