Resumo:Archives are institutions with different functions for society and, therefore, need to be recognized from different archival processes and practices. Therefore, this article aims to discuss some possibilities of mediation and diffusion in archives from the interrelationship between these concepts and to elucidate the possible approximations between them. As specific objectives, it discusses mediation and dissemination within the archives and highlights the need to increase the visibility of both archivists and the archives' ambience. As a methodological procedure, it carries out a basic research, of an exploratory-descriptive character, with bibliographic design. As a result, he considers that, historically, in the Archivology literature the concept of diffusion in archives is more used when compared to that of information mediation. It concludes, from the bibliographic review, that there is a proximity between the concepts of cultural mediation and cultural diffusion, pedagogical mediation and educational diffusion, and their practices, but that present their own theoretical and conceptual demarcations that distinguish them.
