| Resumo: | This paper aims to identify how some concepts from Florestan Fernandes’work can analytically approachtheoretical issues in the Sociology of Morality.“Absent presence”seeks to draw attention to bothcentral and peripheral aspectsof these concepts in his work. Itspresence is due to itsheuristic and political value and its absence is duetoitslittle theoretical systematizationin Fernandes’theory.However, the paper will try to demonstrate that, even with such theoretical invisibility, moral plays a relevant role in macrosociologicalconcepts, such as dependent capitalism. |
