| Sumario: | This work discusses the concept of communication in the ethical and ontological senses, based on the problem of Saying and Said, as Emmanuel Levinas proposed in Autrement qu'être ou au-delà de l'essence in 1974. possible contributions of the philosopher to the area of communication, highlighting the contributions made by other researchers in the area, especially Ciro Marcondes Filho, who was the first researcher in the area who was able to articulate Levinas’s thought to build the scientific field of communication. We support the hypothesis that communication in the ethical sense unfolds ontologically as justice, showing a prerogative that must be considered in any theoretical or scientific discourse on communication because, otherwise, we tend to violence and totality. |
