| Resumo: | Reviewing The Eighth Local Court of Nature's Rights is reviewed, a "court of conscience" established to judge the Maya Train, one of the top tourist megaprojects of the Mexican federal government (2018-2024), which aims to bring about a territorial, economic, and touristic reordering of southern Mexico. The Local Court is contextualized within the framework of the nature rights movement, and the arguments regarding violations of the rights to a healthy environment and the self-determination of the Maya people caused by the Maya Train and processes of tourism development are described. |
