| Sumario: | This paper compares the construction of a discourse topic in inaugural addresses by the same president given in different communicative situations. I understand discourse topic based on Jubran's (2011) definition and the analysis is based on Koch's (2010) approach, considering the distribution of the discourse topic on a hierarchical axis and on a linear axis. The inaugural addresses analyzed refer to the speeches given by Lula during the inauguration ceremony, which took place in the National Congress for representatives of the legislative power, and in Planalto for voters and other citizens. The results pointed to differences in the construction of the discourse topic based on the interlocutors. |
