| Sumario: | This article presents a reflection on the process of implementing public policies in the area of education in the municipalities of Rio Pardo, Venâncio Aires and Santa Cruz do Sul, located in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul/Brazil. The objective of the article was to analyze how street-level bureaucrats influence the area of education in inclusive and/or exclusionary processes that affect the (re)production or reduction of inequalities in the process of implementing public policies. The article Bureaucracy and Implementation of Public Policies: Challenges and Potentials for Reducing Inequalities, authored by Gabriela Lotta (2021), was the basis for both moments, both theoretical and field research. In the field research, three in-depth semi-structured interviews were carried out with education professionals. After analyzing the results, it is considered that the successful implementation of public policy must consider the social impact assessments that comprehensively analyze how policy affects inequalities. The absence of this type of assessment can limit the understanding of the results and prevent necessary adjustments. |
