Sumario:The objective of this study was to determine and compare the internal temperature of the attic of reduced scaled models of poultry houses with different thermal insulation technologies on the roof. Nine reduced models were analyzed, three of which were covered only with metal tiles (zinc tile); three with an association of this zinc tile with thermal blanket (known as asphalt blanket); and three other models with an association of metal tiles with Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) sheets. The temperature analysis was performed using DS18B20 sensors installed in the attic, 15 cm above the lining of each reduced model and another sensor on the outside to compare the temperature of the internal environment with the external variation. It was concluded that, when the absolute external temperature was the highest, the models with the application of XPS board had a lower attic temperature, on average 3.4°C when compared to the zinc roof tile alone, presenting itself as the best technology among those tested, being technically a viable option for application in zootechnical buildings, given its greater capacity for thermal insulation. The asphalt blanket, on the other hand, did not show efficiency in thermal insulation, possessing thermal characteristics close to the behavior of metal tiles, especially under high temperature conditions.
