| Sumario: | The present study was carried out with the aim to evaluate the effect ofincluding waste from vegetables in the Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) diets over the bromatological composition and performance of the carcass. Four hundred (400) fingerlings of Nile tilapia were used, aged 60 days and with average body weight of 10 ± 0.5 g . The fish were distributed in a randomized block design with four treatments (0, 40, 60 and 100% of commercial feed substitution by vegetable waste), with five repetitions of 140L represented by aquariums with 20 fish each, totaling 20 experimental units. The evaluated variables were: live viability, carcass yield, feed intake, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, and bromatological carcass composition (dry matter, crude protein, ether extract, and ash). It may be concluded that: 1) the ration substitution levels by vegetable waste to optimize feed intake, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio are 61.3%, 62.2% and 71.4% respectively. 2) If the level is kept up to approximately 60% of feed substitutions by vegetable residue (Very good performance) the bromatological carcass body composition and its yield and live viability are not changed. |
