| Sumario: | The lack of interest of the traditional media in covering the Paralympic Games puts Twitter as an important space of visibility and recognition of disabled athletes. This article analyses the content of 1.238 (n=1.238) posts made by the Brazilian Paralympic Committee account (@cpboficial) and 9.132 (n=9.132) tweets made by users of the social networks with the hashtag #JogosParalimpicos, all posted during the event in Brazil. After this, the paper finds three types of recognition expressed to the athlets: Institucional; Sportive and Affective/Ideological. The results are analysed under Nancy Fraser and Axel Honneth’s discussion of theory of recognition. |
