How family and gender issues are rearranged in the relations between parenting and homosexuality? How do subjects deal with gender and parenting issues when faced with the performativity of desire? These are questions which lead us to think about the impact that homossexuality has caused when entered a field which Modernity has created and presented as a strictly heterosexual domain: the sentiment of family.A noção moderna de família pressupõe a existência de crianças no processo de legitimação moral, social e legal do que é considerada uma "família". No Brasil, apesar de todos os constrangimentos legais e sociais, as novas configurações familiares, incluindo as famílias homossexuais, vêm ganhando cada vez mais espaço nas discussões da academia, da mídia e da política. Nas relações entre parentalidade e homossexualidade, como se reconfiguram as relações de família e gênero? Como o gênero e a parenta- lidade são relidos pelo sujeito diante da performatividade do desejo?
