| Sumario: | BACKGROUND: Every year, 5,8 million deaths are caused by trauma worldwide, which represents about 10% among all causes of death; being the youth and young adults the most prevalent age range. OBJECTIVE: analyze the association of trauma related pathologies in different neighborhoods in Campos dos Goytacazes, using geostatistical data. METHODS: it is an observational and analytical study, evaluating a sample of patients admitted into trauma department at Hospital Ferreira Machado (HFM), using reports developed by KLINICOS software. RESULTS: From January until May 2018, the trauma department was responsible for 26% of the emergency and urgency attendance at HFM, being the most prevalent age range from 20 to 29 years old. The neighborhood Jockey Club has had the greatest incidence of both cold weapon and physical injuries (@ 5%) and accidents with motorcyclists (@ 7%); while the neighborhood Santa Rosa was the second most incident in gunshot wounds and the first in accidents with cyclists. CONCLUSIONS: the neighborhoods with greater incidence of gunshot wounds, cold weapon and physical injuries victims are situated in Guarus. Whereas accidents involving motorcyclists and cyclists are more incident in Jockey, neighborhood located between two important highways that connect the city of Campos dos Goytacazes to Farol and São João da Barra.
