Genetic and palaeoenvironmental considerations are done on the basis of their characteristics and stratigraphical framework.Se describen coprolitos provenientes de Formación Ituzaingó, en la provincia de Entre Ríos, Argentina que se asignan al ichnogenero Mesopotacoprus isgen nov. Corresponden a formas cilíndricas que por sus caracteres morfológicos permiten diferenciarlos en tres nuevas icnoespecies: M. laevis, M. celinai, M .acostai y M. porosus.
