Descripción
Sumario:This contribution describes a collection of vertebrate coprolites from the Neogene Ituzaingó Formation that crops out in the Province of Entre Ríos, in Northeastern Argentina. Samples were assigned to a new ichnogenus: Mesopotacaprus igen nov. In addition, four new ichnospecies are defined and identified by their morphological characters: Mesopotacaprus laevis isp. nov., Mesopotacaprus celinai isp. nov., Mesopotacaprus acostai isp. nov. and Mesopotacaprus porosus isp. nov.. Genetic and palaeoenvironmental considerations are done on the basis of their characteristics and stratigraphical framework.
