Sumario:With the purpose of evaluating the relationship betweenthe clinical severity of acute cholangitis and the anatomicliver alterations, it was decided to put to the test amethod of assessing the degree of severity of thesepatients and investigate the pathogenic and prognosticrole of the histologic /esions and hepatic dysfunction. Thehepatic histopathologic alterations were classifiedaccording to degrees of increasing severity in conjuncionwith the parenchymal damage secondary to biliaryobstruction.
