Descrição
Resumo:This paper sets out some general approaches to the joint study of the literatures narrating the processes of democratic transitions that took place in the last third of the 20th century. The use of the term transitional literatures is proposed to designate these literatures. Previous work on the documentation and interpretation of literature on the Spanish Transition is taken as a starting point. Examples from Czech and German literature are given, and finally, the possibility of studying transitional literatures from the point of view of melancholy and nostalgia, as theorised by Boym (2015) and Traverso (2019), is delimited. In this line, the year 1968 is proposed as the international reference date for nostalgia in transitional literature.
