Descripción
Sumario:Rectal duplication is a rare entity that accounts for 5% of digestive tract duplications, with posterior rectal duplications being the most common. We present the case of a newborn male with an extrophic rectal duplication. The diagnosis was made clinically and confirmed by pathology. Surgical resection of the mass was performed, and the postoperative course was uneventful. The objective is to present a very rare entity that requires a high level of diagnostic suspicion, emphasizing that surgical resection is the treatment of choice to prevent subsequent complications.
