Sumario:In order to understand how modernism and architecture have intertwined in Uruguay, it becomes indispensable to approach sports. The Federación Uruguaya de Remo celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, in 2023, longevity that stands out due to its early establishment. As a remarkable federation with an exemplary national-scale development, some of the clubhouses that were established around the country would become outstanding landmarks. This research focuses on a sports discipline that once was a source of joy and pride in Uruguay, and delves into those architectural expressions that reflect the national imagery around sports; in this case, the image of a country in permanent growth, successful, and, as such, groundbreaking in its architectural infrastructure.
