Resumo:In recent studies, Counter-Dominance Orientation (CDO) arises as a counterpart of the Social Dominance Orientation (SDO). CDO assesses psychological responses to the oppression of hierarchical systems. The purpose of the present study was to explore profiles of CDO and SDO in relation to political variables such as national and international political perception, political participation, political efficacy, anomy perception, among others. To fulfill this objective, a questionnaire with 5 self-administered scales and socio-demographic items was developed. It was applied to Argentinean residents of Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. The results show that people with a SDO profile are mainly characterized by dissatisfaction with national political operation, a perception of anomy, and a right self political position. On the contrary, individuals with a CDO profile mostly focus their discontent with international policies or power differences, and a left self political position.
