| Resumo: | A school curriculum should promote an education open to transformation, based on the demands of students and the context. In this sense, this essay aims to describe the necessary conditions for the development of students’ creativity as a competence integrated into the practice in the curricular areas of primary education. To do this, it relies on various research conducted on the nature of creativity, its characteristics, and its application in the school experience. It constitutes a documentary approach that is expected to analyze the implications of creativity as a competence that could bring an expectant dimension to the development of different curricular areas in basic education. The study allowed for a bettter understanding of the potential of creativity as a competence for teaching and its possible positive effect on school learning. It also motivated the need to maintain, expand, and deepen the study and reflection on the school curriculum. |
