The aim of this study is to propose a systematic review of the construct of fear of crime in Ibero-Latin American with the objective of identifying its conceptualizations and associated variables. Using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review) methodology, articles published in Spanish were searched in the following databases: Scielo (n = 194), Redalyc (n = 270), Latindex (n = 5) y Dialnet (n = 176). The evidence found in the articles demonstrates that in the case of Ibero-Latin American, there is ambiguity in the construct, as fear of crime is often referred to as a concept equivalent to, for example, the perception of insecurity. Furthermore, it appears that fear of crime is conceptualized largely from an emotional perspective. Finally, the variables most studied in research on fear of crime are those related to its individual-psychological effects (well-being or emotions) and victimization (direct and indirect).

Así, algunas investigaciones proponen que este constructo debe de ser medido unidimensionalmente. Otras investigaciones por su parte defienden la idea que el miedo al delito debe ser categorizado en términos multidimensionales. Este estudio tiene como finalidad proponer una revisión sistemática del constructo del miedo al delito en Ibero-Latinoamerica con el objetivo de identificar sus conceptualizaciones y variables con las que se ha asociado. A través de la metodología PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review), se buscaron los artículos publicados en español en las siguientes bases de datos: Scielo (n = 194), Redalyc (n = 270), Latindex (n = 5) y Dialnet (n = 176). La evidencia encontrada en los artículos demuestra que en el caso de Ibero-Latinoamerica existe ambigüedad en el constructo, ya que se hace referencia a miedo al delito como un concepto equivalente, por ejemplo, a la percepción de inseguridad. Además, parece que el miedo al delito es conceptualizado en mayor medida desde una dimensión emocional. Por último, las variables que más se han trabajado en las investigaciones sobre el miedo al delito son las relacionadas con sus efectos individuales-psicológicos (bienestar o emociones) y la victimización (directa e indirecta).Dans la littérature académique, il existe un manque de consensus concernant la conceptualisation de la peur du crime. Ainsi, certaines recherches proposent que ce construit soit mesuré de manière unidimensionnelle. D’autres recherches, quant à elles, défendent l’idée que la peur du crime doit être catégorisée en termes multidimensionnels. Cette étude vise à proposer une revue systématique du construit de la peur du crime en Ibéro-Amérique latine, afin d’identifier ses conceptualisations ainsi que les variables auxquelles il a été associé. En utilisant la méthodologie PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review), les articles publiés en espagnol ont été recherchés dans les bases de données suivantes: Scielo (n = 194), Redalyc (n = 270), Latindex (n = 5) y Dialnet (n = 176). Assim, algumas pesquisas propõem que esse construto seja medido unidimensionalmente. Outras pesquisas defendem a ideia de que o medo do crime deve ser categorizado em termos multidimensionais. O objetivo deste estudo é propor uma revisão sistemática do construto medo do crime na Ibero-Latinoamerica com o objetivo de identificar suas conceituações e variáveis associadas. Utilizando a metodologia PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review), artigos publicados em espanhol foram pesquisados nas seguintes bases de dados: Scielo (n = 194), Redalyc (n = 270), Latindex (n = 5) y Dialnet (n = 176). As evidências encontradas nos artigos demonstram que, no caso da Ibero-Latinoamerica, há ambiguidade no construto, visto que o medo do crime é frequentemente referido como um conceito equivalente, por exemplo, à percepção de insegurança. Além disso, parece que o medo do crime é conceituado em grande parte a partir de uma perspectiva emocional.
