Management testimonies are also presented with figures from some producers and finally the morphological differential characters and the fibre structure that characterizes and defines the Suri and Huacaya breeds.Esta revisión parte de la publicación «Definición de razas de alpacas y llamas», de la revista Animal Genetic Resources que ubica a la alpaca en el nivel primario en la evolución de razas de animales domésticos y hace una revisión de la domesticación de la alpaca, el trato recibido durante la conquista y el coloniaje, la inclusión de la fibra de alpaca al mercado textil internacional, el manejo técnico durante la República hasta el presente, primero en las haciendas, luego en las empresas asociativas y actualmente en las medianas propiedades y en instituciones del Estado y las universidades.
