description La presente tesis tiene la finalidad de calcular y analizar el Índice de Progreso Social (IPS) del distrito de San Juan de Miraflores (SJM) en el año 2019, el cual se presenta como un conjunto de indicadores sociales y ambientales que permiten medir el bienestar y progreso social en la localidad. Asimismo, se enfoca en medir los resultados de las políticas municipales, sin considerar el tamaño de la inversión. El IPS se compone de tres dimensiones: Necesidades Humanas Básicas, Fundamentos de Bienestar y Oportunidades. La primera dimensión tiene cuatro componentes: Nutrición y asistencia médica, Agua y saneamiento, Vivienda y seguridad personal. La segunda dimensión tiene otros cuatro componentes: Acceso al conocimiento, Acceso a la información, Salud y bienestar y Sustentabilidad del ecosistema. Y la tercera dimensión los componentes: Derechos personales, Libertad personal y de elección, Tolerancia e inclusión y Acceso a educación superior. Cabe señalar que la investigación tiene un enfoque de carácter descriptivo, un diseño no experimental y de tipo transaccional. El instrumento utilizado fue la recopilación de información a través de encuestas de 58 preguntas. Se midió la consistencia de las variables de los 12 componentes mediante la correlación de indicadores y el cálculo del Alfa de Cronbach, obteniendo valores mayores o iguales a 0.7. Se midió la idoneidad mediante el cálculo del KMO, obteniendo valores mayores o iguales a 0.5, mediante el análisis factorial y la ponderación de indicadores. El distrito de SJM obtuvo un puntaje de 54.90 alcanzando un IPS “Medio Bajo”. Se analizaron los resultados obtenidos del distrito comparándolos con los resultados de Lima Metropolitana y de Perú (2017), permitiendo posicionarlo dentro del contexto de la capital y a nivel nacional. De este modo, se determinaron las brechas existentes que ayudaron a plantear las recomendaciones del presente trabajo de investigación.

It also focuses on measuring the results of municipal policies, without focusing on the size of the investment. The Social Progress Index has three dimensions; Basic Humans Needs, Foundations of Well-being and the Opportunities. The first dimension has four components: Nutrition and medical assistance, Water and sanitation, Housing and personal security. The second dimension has another four components: Access to knowledge, Access to information, Health and well-being and the Sustainability of the ecosystem. And the third dimension has the following components: Personal rights, Personal freedom and choice, Tolerance and inclusion and Access higher education. It should be noted that the research has a descriptive scope approach, non-experimental design, and transactional type. The instrument used is the collection of information through surveys of 58 questions. The consistency of the variables of the 12 components was measured by means of the correlation of indicators and the calculation of Cronbach's Alpha obtaining values greater than or equal to 0.7. The suitability was measured by calculating the KMO, obtained value greater than or equal to 0.5, by factor analysis and indicator weighting. The district of SJM obtained a score of 54.90 reaching a “Middle low level” of social progress. The results obtained were analyzed, comparing them with the results of Metropolitan Lima and Perú (2017), allowing positioning it within the context of the capital and at the national level.
