To test the hypothesis, "... languages of the same language family share a basic grammatical organization which allows intercomprehension”, it has been initiated a pilot project with the Arawak languages. However, this process must continue in order to be able to determine if   the intercomprehension could be given just as other languages. The first results are positive in their application as teaching strategy in EIB.El presente artículo presenta los resultados de una primera etapa del proyecto de investigación Intercomprensión Lingüística entre lenguas amazónicas y andinas emparentadas en tres contextos específicos: zona de confluencia de lenguas de la familia Pano, zona de confluencia de lenguas de la familia Arawak y zona de confluencia de lenguas de la familia Quechua. Para probar la hipótesis "… lenguas de la misma familia lingüística comparten una organización gramatical básica que permite la intercomprensión”, se ha iniciado un  plan piloto con las lenguas arawak. Sin embargo, este proceso debe continuar para poder llegar a determinar si la intercomprensión se podría dar del mismo modo en las otras lenguas.
