Resumo:This project is important because it describes the importance of taking the readiness as a means to encourage reading and writing in students who have a condition known as intellectual disability. The readiness allows the students to develop some functions that are favorable for their schooling, among them are: the cultural, social, linguistic, psychomotor and perceptual aspect, which will give rise to the beginning of the teaching-learning of reading and writing in an integral way. This research arises with the objective of offering the teachers of the El Silencio School a tool that will serve as support for the work of students who present a disability, in order to offer them a teaching process according to their potential and needs. The results obtained in the statistical part show that teachers want to make changes and have resources that allow them to work with students who have this disability, who attend the educational institution.
