Sumario:The synthesis of novel di- n -butyl [bis (alkyl-aminopropion - ic acid)]tin (IV) (alkyl = octyl, dodecyl, octadecyl) 2a-2c is reported. The complexes were characterized by 1 H, 13 C, 119 Sn NMR, IR, MS and elemental analyses. For compound 2a the 119 Sn NMR showed the presence of five signals suggesting the existence of a mixture of five hexa–coordinated species in equilibrium, two trans (I, II) and three cis (III, IV, V). In contrast, the compounds 2b and 2c present only unique hexa–coordinated specie.
