This article analyzes the role of the affective bond with the place of origin. This bond is seen as an emotion that can influence the commitment towards saving the environment. The purpose of this research is to contribute to the literature that studies the role of attachment to the place of origin in response to climate change. To what extend attachment plays a role in the commitment to save the environment at the local and global levels. It will show the struggles of a particular group that is defending water rights in Mexico City.El cambio climático está poniendo a la humanidad frente a una disyuntiva: actuar para reducir la huella ecológica del ser humano en el planeta, cuestionando la relación con el medioambiente, o seguir con el mismo modelo de desarrollo, adaptándonos a las consecuencias del cambio climático. Detrás de la decisión que tomemos, no sólo habrá razones económicas y hábitos de consumo, sino también muchas emociones que influyen en las respuestas al problema. En este artículo, se analiza el papel del vínculo afectivo con los lugares como emoción que puede influir en el compromiso con el medioambiente.
