Sumario:This article presents the results of the research project, which objectives were to generate and implement an environmental governance strategy that directs actions for the sustainable use of the water resources of the Santiaguillo’s basin. Through the methodology of participatory action research, and based on the theoreticalconceptual framework, key social actors were identified and actions were taken. It is concluded that –through environmental governance, actions are encouraged that lead to the sustainable use of the water resources of the Santiaguillo’s basin, such as the intermunicipal order of the basin, and the active participation of civil society, NGOs, companies and government.
